I once shot a AK-47 & my first time an uzi in Gary, Indiana
(Place is kinda garbage tho smells worse than French quarter when tourists season kicks in New Orleans)
Anyone here ever been to Gary?
Went there every year to visit my grandma when she lived there, I don't remember a lot about the town because my family would only visit her house for a day and then drive to chicago but it did have the kind of vibe that instagram reel showed. But the neighbors at least in her neighborhood were nice and cool.
But also, my grandma got dementia and moved out of that house around 2019 and passed away pretty soon after, so it's been a while since I visited.
Yea Gary a s***hole lol. Decent amount of people in Gary will just claim Chicago nowadays. Idk where they're moving to, maybe closer to Chicago suburbs (although some consider Gary a Chicago suburb as well ), cause the city itself has a declining population as well.

I went there and saw Michael Jackson's childhood home when I was in HS. It was gated off and turned into a historical monument.

RIP Granny
Went through there on the South Shore train over the holidays. It looked absolutely miserable.
I've been as a kid but don't remember it being the apocalypse like in that vid

What did you see??
What did you see??
Very little.
I might have seen half a dozen people outside total while we went through there. A lot of empty parking lots, including the area around the Railcats' ballpark. Kind of a ghost town from that vantage point. Couldn't imagine myself ever living in Indiana again (I was out there from 2010-2014).
I remember reading about an abandoned Holiday Inn in Gary.
I wonder if there’s an abandoned McDonald’s over there.
