Well no, you either *fight and die, like what's happening now, or you gtfo and rebuild. It's clear what route the powers of Palestine have chosen.

*terrorism and savagery in Palestine's case

How does it feel to be dumb?

israel continues to ethnically cleanse without any repercussion. peace talks from palestine has not slowed down colonization. its a last resort

But apparently this attack happened to sabotage peacetalks? Hamas does not benefit from Jews and Arabs getting along after all. Yall ignore this.

I find it hard to believe that Israel didn’t know about this attack before hand. I wouldn’t be surprised if they let it happen, just so they can have justification to obliterate Gaza.
What I wonder is why hamas choose to attack knowing this would likely be the response? Maybe they know or just hope other countries will join the war?
I really hope Israel doesn’t destroy the entire region

There are reports of Netanyahu ignoring Egyptian warnings if a Hamas attack, and him being the only one out of anyone denying such a warning even existed

Where do they gtfo to? The people of Gaza aren’t allowed to leave for anywhere, there are naval blockades and closed borders on all four sides . The first minister of Scotland has family in Gaza who can’t even come

Their country isn’t recognized by any western nation so they can’t apply for refugee status

And even if they do receive it, they can’t leave because of the blockade and because of the fact that Gaza’s only airport was destroyed by Israel in 2001 and is routinely bombed to make sure no reconstruction occurs

Very informative! Ok, a couple more questions: How does the SSNP relate to the Ba’aths? Do you think there is a reason for why Ba’ath states became dominated by minorities (Alawites in Syria and Sunnis in Iraq) or was that just kind of luck? Also, do you think any of the various Arab federative/confederative attempts of the time had a chance (I tend to think they didn’t)?

the SSNP is a nationalist party which advocates for Syria as an Imperial state essentially. it believes syria should establish "greater syria" which includes virtually all of the middle east. It was actually founded out of Syria (i think lebanon?) as a nationalist advocacy to french colonism. It predates baathism by quite a bit. SSNP exists outside of syria too, in several other middle eastern countries. SSNP is very much a right wing party and uses the term "socialist" in the same way as nazis did in germany - for all intents and purposes, despite being founded as a reaction to colonialism - SSNP is literally the nazi party but Syrian. it has the same ideas of lebenstraum. volkische, stark anti-communism, etc. SSNP is considered a terrorist group in some MENA countries its active in, such as Jordan. In Syria itself, it has a checkered history since its nationalist (often aligning therefore with Assad's Baath party), but is still a competing ideology. They are hesitantly allowed by Assaad to exist but essentially very heavily regulated/surveilled.
The alawite situation is basically because alawites are a privileged minority in Syria who historically had greater success and thus long-term maintained access to institutions and therefore resources, captial, access, etc. (think like Gujaratis in India). Therefore its unsurprising that theyre associated with the intelligentsia of the country. SSNP was also started by alawites.

edit (just saw the other question you added on): no they were all absolute pipedreams and never really stood a chance. the fact the nasser/baath split itself lead to such a deep blood feud without anything actually happening despite them both being for "arab unity" is proof of that. while it sounds nice, pan-arabism has always in truth been a sham for specific countries to posture to get what they want themselves (including Ghaddafi, despite him otherwise being a good leader).

some arab nationalists have a very odd view of palestine where they think the israeli occupation is bad but they want their respective country to take it over as part of a grand expansionist project

If I were in their position now, yes. But I would've gotten out of there a long time ago cause a patch of "holy land" wouldn't mean f*** all to me.

What if you were born there with no chance of leaving, experienced the horrors these people have, and you’ve finally escaped into the land filled with people who perpetrated these actions?

    yeah thats true

mearsheimer believes that, and thats basically the line taken by most pro-RU "right-wing populist" figures

IR theory of that nature is quite incompatible with Marxism

very small amount now, was much bigger of a phenomena several decades ago. parties like the SSNP basically are puppet/controlled opposition now in Syria for example. this was definitely the case however in the 60s through 80s however.

I remember that hardline Syrian nationalists call Palestine "Southern Syria" in their discourses
