We have some decent r&b and jazz, but rap scene has really fizzled
Back in 2012 everyone was making Chicago drill rip offs, then it was mustard beat stuff for a couple years, now it’s just a couple backpack guys.
It’s not just rap tho unfortunately we’re really in the doldrums across genres after a brief revival during the first Trump term. Whole arts community is just really selfish and clicky nowadays and the music has suffered for it

Jan 3·1 replyI peeped the whole All About Me album and it was a solid tape overall. I like the second half a lot more than the first. That stretch from Stupid B to Mama Used to Say is crazy. Those two specifically though are best songs on the album.
