Listened to about half of the album but the rip didn’t sound great, I’ll wait till Friday for a full listen.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tracks I heard though, loving the latin elements on some of these songs.
Holy Holy is one of the best songs of the year. Blues is a great opener.
Waiting for either a HQ rip or Friday.
Saw somewhere they called this game show music and that’s exactly what I need. I want to feel like I’m about to win the $10 million dollar prize on some manic game show
im realizing now I guess I never gave black midi a chance, but the single off this I was recommended today is crazy good
On the black midi spotify it says other listeners listen to squid, hella, and slint so I just got the leak to listen to in a car ride tonight based off that alone

My client canceled so I just put that on my Spotify here instead
You are not wrong, almost done with it and this is immaculate music
I think my dumbass always read black midi and thought it was the same as black country new road - who I did try and hate - so I just never paid attention until now, and apparently this band is done for lmao

I think they will reform, it was a weird breakup/hiatus announcement. And that’s funny you lumped them in with BCNR as they are kinda in the same “scene” if you will.
I am heavily anticipating this Geordie record

When Isaac was in the band? Absolutely
Their new material has sounded good live (no studio music to go off of yet), but also has been a considerable step down. They’re all very skilled musicians but Isaac’s songwriting really was the glue that held it all together, and I don’t think any of Tyler/Lewis/Maye are as naturally gifted as him in that department.

A handful of their newer live music has matched the same level as their earlier stuff imo
