Difference being, they don't have to compromise because they own the property and by renting you agreed to make the payments. They can work with you if you are in a tight spot, but no lanlord is gonna keep letting that go on forever.
When you wont compromise its just because you don't have a solution to the problem you're complaining about.

Also this is why America needs better public housing programs. Her mom was really about to get tilted onto the streets thats wild.
I can't speak for the college situation since its private but Americans gotta realize its not sustainable to now have a decent public housing program.
