TPAB lives separate for me outside his discog. Unfortunately an unpopular opinion, but attribute that album to a collective and a singular artist

The biggest difference, from as I see it, TPAB was created far before it's release and I look at the idea of that record as a piece of art that has deeply invested contributions from legends. When I hear TPAB I hear Kendrick, Thundercat, Terrace, Robert Glasper, and Kamasi. From the early relationship of all these artists and their subsequent experiences growing up in similar areas, after their own personal successes and collaborations with each other. I understand that entirely, but the same can be said about this album since it’s a creative experience by Kendrick, one of his best friends Sounwave, one of Sounwave’s creative best friend’s Jack Antonoff

I get the perspective you are coming from, since they all grew up together and I’ve actually seen those terrace interviews about Dot. But the same can be said for this album, we just lack the interview details right now to see that
