"And they tryna control Ye
They want me to calm down
They don't want me to Kanye
They don't want Kanye to be Kanye
They wanna sign a fake Kanye
They tryna sign a calm Ye
That's right I call him Calm Ye"
I mean...how are you guys defending this? It's so clear he's takes 0 time to write his verses now. This song could've been really good if he even put in the BARE minimum effort to think about what he wanted to say before he hopped on the mic. Just so that the lyrics and flows would be decent enough to not stick out in a bad way. If you think these lyrics and his rapping are good you've been brainwashed by JIK to forget what he's capable of when he actually tries.

this is what he wanted to say
Like bro shut the f*** up, you aren't Kanye and you don't know his intentions. This isn't Kanye stan talk either man it sickens me when people try to assume an artists intentions, whether that be in music, film, etc. whatever the f***. Just shut up my god.
@ANTI Dude f*** off I don't care what his intentions were. This is exactly what Kanye stan talk is actually. I could freestyle a song about wanting Kim to sit on my face and rhyme at a 3rd grade level but that doesn't make it a good song just because it's what I "intended" to do.
Some of you guys are so brainwashed since JIK you're now redefining the terms of what good rapping is and it's pathetic. "Well if Kanye thought the best thing to do on the song was freestyle with iphone recording quality and no retakes then you can't criticize it because that's what he wanted to do." Imagine having this level of circular reasoning where you just have to like it because Kanye wanted to do it this way and Kanye knows best. Idc if you like the song, but stop being delusional and acting as if other people don't have legitimate criticisms

wah wah the song bangs we don’t care lil baby
execution 30 states... uhh.. 30 states still execute!
that sounds like something ye would have said in a wittier way on Crack music or new slaves even if you don't like the song. we ain't heard that from ye for a minute, i don't know if we've ever heard that from travis.
how you gonna s*** on Trav for rapping lyrics against the death penalty? we never get this from trav and it's specific, it's not like Drake's weird throwaway 'president doing us in' line
i'm curious if that line was originally for ye as he does it on the demo or if it was always for trav. cos if trav's gonna start going in that direction his music could really change
if drake did a song like this everyone would call it trash, but its actually decent
why? a lot of his fans probably love these type of ronny j beats. i do
This is perfect

A bit harsh but yeah it's clear he can do much better. This is a step in the right direction tho, he just needs to start RAPPING rapping again. The Westside Gunn collab will let us know where his skills are at

The production is clearly ahead of JIK, I like where Kanye's energy is, but the rapping is clearly not where it needs to be, and Kanye needs to record in the studio instead of on his iphone. It's just frustrating as a huge fan because there's so much potential here and all it would take is a little more effort to make it great. I don't get how people find that so crazy that we don't want phoned in (literally) verses from Kanye. KSG shows he's not washed up and he can actually rap when he wants to

Those who make it complicated never will be congratulated

I like the message but the bar is clunky af to the point where it feels forced

sometimes the truth chunky
you'd rather more nothingness was in our ears? Trav gonna come through and finally give em public enemy on Ronny J beats this year
