I have played elden ring
you read through spoilers for god of war before you played.
Its okay that some people that played through both games liked Elden Ring better just like its okay some that played through ragnarok liked ragnarok better. You getting washed trying to invalidate others gripes though

I’m not you’re just biased against what I’m saying and agree with the like 2 dudes arguing against me. People itt have agreed with me. Now hop off my d***. Of course I’m gonna argue for the game I prefer in the GoW vs ER thread lol.

you were arguing against peoples valid complaints in the ragnarok thread or just us talking about sony formula

Yeah cause that s*** was annoying. Dudes were complaining they couldn’t loot well enough lmao.
To me Horizon and GoT are pretty much the same kind of game, they're not world beaters or anything, but I enjoyed them, I had fun. The stories weren't award winners, but they were fine enough. A lot of Horizon's story you really get a lot more info listening to all the audio and s***.
Like you learn about these characters from pre robot takeover and it's like damn this is kinda interesting actually.
I think the clothing is kinda mid for some tribes, but I do applaud the design, it definitely is diverse in ethnicities. It's one of the few games out there where black people actually look good and have well done hair, other ethnicities look legit.
The way that you feel about Horizon is how I felt playing Fallout 4, that game was so uninspiring to me, it just felt like a time waster of quest to quest to level up with a s***ty main plot. I'd agree to disagree on everything besides the world being dry.
Personally GoT washes Horizon
GoT had so much more passion in it but I definitely see the similarities. Fallout 4 is total mid
Idk but 2018 GoW deserved it over RDR2
They hating on you for this but it's true
The f*** do you mean? God of war just sold 5.1 mil first week. Uncharted had its own movie and it didn’t decent in box office. Joel and Ellie are very well known also. Last of us sold an absurd amount of copies. What a stupid take yet again man.
I was talking about mascots and character popularity not how much the games selling but i dont even know how this convo started so i think im done discussing this

I didn’t bring them up. Just responding to a post made to me.
Feel like Elden ring may slightly be the better overall game, but Ragnarok gonna win the awards

Did u f*** with elden ring g?
I need to get farther haven't beaten it yet partially because dealing with a lot in life. I do like it though. Its loop works for me more than God of War 2018 at least. I just want to see a variety of game awards winners. Like if an Elden Ring wins maybe more companies will be inspired to make what they want to make . God of War has already won and a lot of the AAA market is becoming God of War, Last of us or like them

Elden Ring already had a massive impact. It's all people were talking about in the gaming world for a while. I'll be shocked if it doesn't win goty but even if it doesn't it already buried the stale Ubisoft formula. The next wave of open world games will 100% take from it.

Mixed with BOTW
havent played ragnarok but its coming in the mail. that being said i think i'll probably go with elden ring for goty. i guess it just depends on what you prioritize with your games (linear narrative plot driven games vs. emergent nonlinear design) but for me elden ring is the more interesting/ambitious game given its dev history. a common critique i hear of ER in favor of GOW is that Elden Ring gets way too caught up in the granularity of its design and for some people thats a detractor, while god of war prioritizes moment to moment fun. Hard call but ultimately the design of elden ring still feels a little newer and more vital to the 2022 videogame landscape. Not to say that gowr isn't amazing (i'm really excited to play it!) just that the model for a gow is pretty well established at this point.
My opinion probably not as valid since i didn’t beat elden ring but i liked god of war way better, i finished it already and i had way more of an urge to play it. Elden ring i kinda stopped and just never picked it back up. They’re both good games but for me i need a decent story or a reason for actions. I liked seeing the personalities and growth of characters in God of war. I don’t like elden rings approach to storytelling and I’m not a big fan of the game design but i know I’m in the minority. The bonfire respawning and constantly fighting the same enemies in the same locations gets monotonous to me.

we can pray
Or just kill Geoff if he doesnt make the right choice

HIS ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL MAKE UP FOR IT
Elden Ring is head and shoulders above GoW. Not to mention, while GoW is great, it’s hardly an improvement on the first. In fact, it’s almost DLC-like. While Elden Ring provides many explorative updates to its familiar design
