listened to the leak this was a very disappointing listen probably the worst hip hop album ive heard this year and thats a shame i actually like goldlinks music but this weird experimental radio intercom vocal effects just aint it plus its his worst lyrically alot of the songs hes not even trying to rap rap.

bro im listening rn. always had hope for goldlink artistically but he really threw in the towel with this. this is terrible. I really can't believe he was feeling himself with this. Jesus

I mean I didn't fw Diaspora but at least there was some sort of convincing complexity to it. what the hell is this?

bro I actually LOVED at what cost when it dropped. this doesn't just sound like a s*** project this sounds like a man that completely lost any semblance magic he once had

I like what he’s going for with the mix but this is pretty bad

  • He really did this trash ass walkie talkie voice on the entire project bro I'm f***ing out

  • I do a similar thing w my vocals but that’s cus I’m insecure it’s kinda crazy to be goldlink and do that lol

for the record I wouldn't even be phased by the vocal filter if it sounded convincing and reflective of some hyper reaction to being cancelled on goldlinks part or whatever. it just serves no utility

This is what all music would sound like if TESTING was as impactful as Rocky stans claimed it to be

Interesting take I agree it feels like it’s a means with no end I just do it cus it sounds like ol house/techno vocal chops or a broadcaster or sum adds a lil spice

His lil cool guy shruggy flow doesn’t mesh w it at all

im so sick and tired of this pseudo-experimentation in rap. oh yeah lets just take this grime artist and mix him with this alt pop artist and put them over a trap beat with a slightly intriguing icy synth. so f***ing insulting to anyone who values rap as a continuously critical art form and to think it will get better from here continuously proves to be out of the question

Nah this s*** is f***ing amazing I don’t know what you niggas are on and I’m not even a big fan of Goldlink at all but this is really something, specifically from a sonic stand point I’m loving this direction. Really experimental s*** I wouldn’t think he’d touch. F***ing terrordome?!?!?!? Fire!!!!

the most charitable take I would give for this is that if you took the songs with the British guys on here and put them on at what cost, at what cost might be a bit stronger. I'd probably listen to Wayne Perry before I listened to we will never die now that hip hop drums are so much more visceral now. thats about it.

Prefer this to that album to be honest as an overall body of work
