Bro you posted DSOTM
you gotta be kidding
DSOTM is the perfect introduction to Floyd
And i say this as someone who prefers WYWH and Animals

I can't imagine not recommending the Syd Barrett stuff first
Led Zepp is goat
They did steal from black artists unfortunately but then again so did most rock musicians
Zappa discography from start to finish
Can discography start to finish
Yes - close to the edge
I can't imagine not recommending the Syd Barrett stuff first
You mean the one album he was on?
that was also complete mid

They stole from their own contemporary white bands that they toured with as well and then fought them in court for half a century instead of just giving them the money they deserved

come on
you really think any first timers to rock music are gonna like Piper more than DSOTM? theyre not ready
same reason im not exactly gonna be quick to recommend some of my favorite artists in here
Niggas d***ride Syd Barrett so f***ing hard
Gimme Animals, WYWH, Meddle, Atom Heart, over Piper

You have just done exposed yourself
Beatles
At the end of the day, I’m can’t and won’t convince you why they’re great, atleast to me.
Saying they not in the top 50 bands of all time is wild though man. These mfs dropped Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, The White Album and Abbey Road in the span of 4-5 years. You don’t think they atleast deserving of a top 40 spot?

Idk aren't bands like Foxygen and Wizard Gizzard or whatever that are popular these days more in tune with 60 psychedelic then overblown 70s stadium s***?

I dont care about white people getting robbed
I dont care about white people getting robbed
But it was white people doing a rock and roll approximation of white people classical and baroque music
points the same page a thief

Revolver is okay without the corny culturally appropriated indian songs
Sgt Pepper is corny to me
White Album has too much mid but also some of their best songs
Abbey Road is a classic
Beatles werent consistent enough for me to put them on my goat list

What bands from that era do you consider consistent? I'm not usually one to defend the Beatles but they definitely had less filler on their albums and pretty much anybody at the time

That’s fair
Atleast you listened and have a respectable perspective
Sgt Pepper my least favorite out of those 5 as well. But A Day In The Life is a masterpiece.

not the experimental side. and also the uniqueness of Piper
we cant act like artists/bands like Tame Imapala who are much bigger than those 2 arent in tune with the DSOTM kind of thing. really disagree with calling DSOTM overblown stadium s*** anyway, even if it sold so much. its been known as headphones in the dark music for decades. its accessible to basically everyone even though i dont think its a total complete goat masterpiece
idk if anyone is listening to foxygen but you anyway

Deadpeg put me on
I'd say Dark Side is half giant stadium jams and half headphone music. Both of my parents listened to it endlessly when I was a kid and I still adore it but I wouldn't recommend it for someone diving into rock if only so they don't have the exact same taste is 98% of people who listen to rock and roll.

I dont f*** with most 60s rock bands outside of King Crimson, Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix, or CCR tbh
