Deadpeg put me on I'd say Dark Side is half giant stadium jams and half headphone music. Both of my parents listened to it endlessly when I was a kid and I still adore it but I wouldn't recommend it for someone diving into rock if only so they don't have the exact same taste is 98% of people who listen to rock and roll.

where are the stadium jams? feel like youll say Money but i feel like theres a definite distinction between radio jam and stadium jam. what parts of the sound are conducive to the giant stadiums? like im talking in the music itself not just the fact that its one of the highest selling so they could play in stadiums. where are the massive singalong choruses, upbeat bangers with heavy drums mixed with power ballads, overall straightforwardness, frontman energy

stadium/arena rock 'jam' to me and everyone else would be s*** like Queen

Yeah, i think the Pink Floyd stadium feel comes from their actual sets but the music is mostly experimental. Queen and Foreigner fit the mold more

Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare

Yeah they never hit for me and I tried

They did show up The Black Keys when they opened for them around 2011 or something not hard tho black keys are terrible live

just revisited and its easier to just say pretty much the whole album sounds too gigantic for headphones imo. i didnt mean it in a derogatoryway when i said stadium jams.

  • This album was very loud and mixed very badly at parts. maybe my radio isn’t Eqd well for rock. Very different than Favourite Worst Nightmare

I really enjoyed that album and I enjoyed this a little more.

    Tangerine
    Gallows Pole
    Immigrant Song
And Since I’ve Been Loving You (best song on album) are my favorites.

    Better than all them

  • Immigrant Song is an insane intro. I can’t even imagine hearing that s*** live with those back ground vocals blaring at you

    S*** is insane

I like melody so bands that have great melody are a plus

Def start with Nirvana’s Nevermind. Perfect entry point for someone new to the genre yet still with substantive merit as a piece of rock history. And of course great melodies

Literally the best album for a entry level @op

Start watching documentaries on YouTube as well. If you wanna get into it fr, or any genre, you gotta immerse yourself into the history of the genre
