it’s the Illmatic for the 21st century in terms of quality, impact and historical relevance to the genre
@BAMSKI_backshots your turn
It’s up there but really hard to pick a best of the century since there are so many 10/10 albums to choose from
what i can agree on is GKMC > TBAP. Not mad at the take in general tho

Willingly listening to good miid, maad s***ty in 2023 is insane.
It’s “the best album of all time,” so good, that allegedly Kendr297k Gimmar fans need to remind you, in a snotty and insecure-sounding tone, how good it is at all times.
Embarrassing stuff — but they never fail to continue to amaze me. What else would you expect from the bunch that listens to faux-Dre albums middled with alien voices and mysterious, surface-level metaphors that they call Psalms.
SAD!
Good Kid Mad City is the best rap album this century
He made an album better than GKMC three years later.
It's definitely up there.
That said, I prefer MBDTF, Supreme Clientele, MMLP, Carter 2, Blueprint, and Madvillainy more.
I go back and forth between GKMC and TPAB too. Sometimes, I lean more into the former or the latter depending on my mood.

What albums you taking from the 20th century over this one? @op
The most overrated rap album of all time
conceptually very good but it only seriously has 5-6 songs worth spinning
Sherane, Art of Peer Pressure, Good Kid, and Real are all absolute snoozers
Backseat Freestyle aged horrendously and has a garbage beat
Compton is mid
