It's honestly pretty trash compared to ChatGPT.

Only thing it has going for it is that it's a little more human/conversational.

i think it means it has access to the whole internet as data???

like how chatgpt only knows s*** till 2021 but bard may know latest s*** too and has access to full internet.

so if tell bard "ban op lock thread" it may recognize its ktt speak and may respond in similar manner

    im making this s\*\*\* up

Just asked Bard and this was its response:

Bard being connected to the internet has a number of implications for its capabilities.

First, it allows Bard to access a vast amount of information. This includes information that is constantly being updated, such as news articles, blog posts, and social media updates. This means that Bard can provide more up-to-date information than a language model that is not connected to the internet.

Second, being connected to the internet allows Bard to learn new things. As Bard interacts with the internet, it can learn about new topics and concepts. This means that Bard can become more knowledgeable over time.

Third, being connected to the internet allows Bard to be more creative. Bard can use the internet to find inspiration for its creative writing, code, and other projects. This means that Bard can produce more original and interesting content.

Fourth, being connected to the internet allows Bard to be more helpful. Bard can use the internet to find information that can help people with their tasks and problems. This means that Bard can be a valuable tool for people who are looking for assistance.

Overall, Bard being connected to the internet has a number of positive implications for its capabilities. These implications make Bard a more powerful and versatile language model.

Here are some specific examples of how Bard's connection to the internet can be used to improve its capabilities:

    • Bard can be used to provide up-to-date information on a variety of topics. For example, if you ask Bard "What is the latest news on the war in Ukraine?", Bard can access news articles from around the world to provide you with the most recent information.
    • Bard can be used to learn new things. For example, if you ask Bard "What is the capital of France?", Bard can access a variety of sources to learn the answer.
    • Bard can be used to be more creative. For example, if you ask Bard to write a poem about love, Bard can use the internet to find inspiration from other poems on the topic.
    • Bard can be used to be more helpful. For example, if you ask Bard "How do I change a flat tire?", Bard can access a variety of sources to provide you with instructions.

These are just a few examples of how Bard's connection to the internet can be used to improve its capabilities. As Bard continues to develop, it is likely that its connection to the internet will play an even greater role in its ability to provide information, learn, create, and help people.

one thing Bard does better than chatgpt right off the bat is that if you ask for book suggestions (or anything else) it gives the actual titles of the books.

ChatGpt just makes s*** up - the books dont even exist.

Yeah it’s definitely not a 0 to 100 type situation. Every advancement has brought information easier and easier to attain. Books to encyclopedias to computers to internet to phones that can access the internet to Wikipedia to YouTube to Siri to present-day AI.

But you have to admit, it’s never been easier and taken less effort than it will when these AI assistants reach casual public accessibility. These things are essentially Jarvis at your side 24/7. No sifting through material. Siri helped you search but these things search for you.
