  • I graduated with a Business degree last May and I started working in a Sales job since then.

The job is cushy, but it's also just not for me.
I can't sit at a desk all day.

I started doing an electrician apprenticeship a few years back and left it to go get a degree..
Now I've been given the opportunity to take up an apprenticeship again.
And I'm going to take it.

    I'm nervous.
I'm going to be on half the money I was on, and it'll be 4+ years before I'm fully qualified.
    I'll be nearly 30.
But I want to work with my hands and I don't want to be stuck behind a desk.
    I'm nervous all the same.

op. you could definitely combine these two. esp your education will carry your confidence, ability to think for yourself
that all translates to you being a leader

There are a lot of hidden ways to go about it. This woman called me up yesterday sayin she got a gig for me helping remodel a super walmart overnight for $20. i showed up same night. asked around, turns out
lady aint even in Fl, she in Alabama n it aint even electrical company she runs a sort of temp service that deals primarily in construction so its spans carpentry, pipe fitting, some electrical
so she gets paid on the backend for placing people on the jobsites? idk exactly but theres all sorts of s***

I had a coworker at home depot that was an electrician and he said it took a toll on his knees so that's why moved into retail

When you get the skills u can make bank doing side jobs for people

  • Bro I wish I got into the trades earlier. I’m almost a journeyman plumber and I love my job a lot. Same as u can’t sit in a desk at all I need to be moving. And tbh u can move up to supervision and s***. My company has already laid out a career path for me and in about 3-4 more years I’ll be a superintendent making 120k a year+bonuses, truck allowance, and gas card

    my honest reaction

I had a coworker at home depot that was an electrician and he said it took a toll on his knees so that's why moved into retail

I did electrical work for a minute and my dumbass boss saw me rolling around on one of those work stools while doing outlets that are like a foot off the ground

Mf said he didn’t have to use one so I can’t use mine 😂

Couple days later I got fired 😅

The funniest part about that whole experience was that I found out mf’er wrote pirate novels 🤣🤣🤣
