Ay yo I got offered a role at big company and now they saying contract to hire. The Job application says full time and now the recruiting agency is telling me I’d be a subcontractor for them. They want me to sign the contract but they lied to me now so now I’m looking at them different.
This sounds suspect. Ima talk to them in an hour and figure out what’s going on. But, they said I can’t discuss the hourly rate of the contract on the call either. I want some differing opinions before I go in.
Anyone got any experience with this?
It's so they can't give you benefits. Do you want to be their puppy chow wow dog, and pray they let you become full time? Or do you want to look for a job that at least pretends to respect you
But all my senses say they're f***ing you.
And my Spidey senses are very strong until I'm in your situation
they tryna f*** you so hard and so raw

Bro this is why I left my last job

It's hard af out here man, I wish I could tell you right from wrong. I'm also getting f***ed in my job but I get to leave in March.
I guess the best option is stick with this until you find the next thing and then leave, it's not like you owe them s***. You're just there to get a couple checks unless they prove they're a good employer
Accept it and continue looking for new jobs. F*** em
My first priority would be securing some income as soon as possible and looking elsewhere in the meanwhile
id be careful about ppl telling you to do it until something better comes up until you know more about the contract. i almost did something similar and then i read reviews from people who worked there saying they didn't want to relocate (which was mentioned as a possibility in part of the contract) and quit after the training & then got charged 10k for training expenses
They put the tip in already.

Did you leave your last job without securing a better one first?

Lol yeah. Been a fun journey. I started a business, realized that I’m more than my job title, and had some time to reflect and figure out what I want out of life.
Also going on interviews have forced me to talk about myself positively, so now I see my worth more. Like it’s weird my self esteem has gone up but my lifestyle has gone down.
Can’t wait to see what comes next

Happy for you bro and hope it works out but my folks always taught me to not burn your bridges until you got something better secured. Hope it works out for you
This is what happened at my current job and it worked out well. I was contract for 4 months before they offered me permanent full time
If it’s a good job/company just show up well and prove your worth and input to the team. But still have a back up plan lol

There’s no way that’s legal lmao

Yeah I was going through it lol
Right choice wrong time. I’ll get it right next time
I'd go on Glassdoor and check the reviews contractors and employees are leaving. A lot of companies offer contract-to-hire but only a few keep that promise.
Personally, I wouldn't do it because it sounds like they want temporary work to catch up in Q4 while full time employees go on holiday vacations and then lay you off once things quiet down again. A lot of big companies are not doing well right now and they're hiring contractors to mitigate their downside. They could very likely let you go on December 31st. But, it's hiring season and there are companies that are looking for long-term full-time employees and I would spend my energy on those instead if I were you.
They tryna grab ur cheeks
