like I would love a Sony Japan again that was more my lane when it came to PlayStation but they got their formula so why would they?
"Formula" makes it seem like these games are unoriginal and all play the same, and that's so false.
Sony is literally one of the very few studios pushing gaming beyond, and people here are straight up disrespecting that.
Ghost of Tsushima isn't like Horizon. God Of war isn't like TLOU. All these games offer something new and fresh everytime.
The Sony formula is super polished 3rd person narrative driven games
Just like Bethesda's formula is bug filled first person open ended games

I think it was dope when Sony had japan studio games along the gritty tps games and even a few fps games, superhero games, and platformers. They had variation. Nowadays they just hone in on one type of game which just gets bland.

YOU SPITTING
I said it before, but The Last of Us really was a blessing and a curse. A remarkable piece of media that really changed the scope of storytelling in video games, but in turn would plague an entire generation thinking of your game wasn’t “cinematic” enough, it wasn’t worth a s***.
I liked 2018, and currently enjoying my time with Ragnarok, but I can’t lie it somewhat tiring to get these kind of games over and over again. I miss Japan Studio and I miss imaginative titles that Sony used to push

I think they're trying to turn to supporting indie devs to fill that void, but yes they could stand to gain more diversity
