reading your post you would think the last 3 episodes of the show makes no mentions of rings, sinestro, guy gardner or anything its just a human based show which its not
The last three episodes are extremely grounded, them saying buzzwords does not change that
bro afraid to say he wanted spectacle
Said twelve times now I didn’t want spectacle

you got other users asking what you mean too. I am not saying you are incapable of loving the show or liking episodes with less spectacle. You are the one mentioning constructs and posting tweets of "drama fans look down on people wanting spectacle"
YOU POSTED THAT TWEET
NOT ME

Yes, because something I’m noticing is people who enjoyed it saying things along the lines of “thank God this show didn’t end with a mindless CGI battle you’re dumb if you want them over grounded drama scenes”
That’s a ridiculous take, even if I myself didn’t want spectacle in the finale. Serious drama is not inherently better than everything else
This is also another thing that pisses me off sometimes, people act like drama & seriousness is inherently superior to other styles. The writing in this show was good, not great. The strong suit of the season was the performances and the chemistry between Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler

I never said storytelling prioritized over action bothers me
That’s not even what the tweet says
Also storytelling and action are not opposite things
You can tell story through action
Final John flight scene doesn’t look great but still liked seeing him fly for the first time.
Having that green glow around him would’ve looked way cooler though @ShintaroKago wish they would’ve done that. Just a small thing but would help them stand out when in air.
No it does not. Constructs were used at other points in the show that was not spectacle
I still think that counts as a spectacle when the constructs were used in the other episodes as well. It doesnt has to be some grand light show to still be considered a spectacle
Can someone explain to me where Martian Manhunter fits into all this?
Manhunters are different lol has nothing to do with him

Spectacle is big, epic, flashy. Lighting a cigarette with the ring is not spectacle

that isnt a ridiculous take wont say someone is DUMB but will say HBO shows from Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy and Tom King what would lead you to believe it would end like Game of Thrones? There wasnt even an indication of that throughout the entire show . Nothing it was building too. The show mid season finale was clearly the special fx and battle climax. They made that clear in the podcast never lied about it
My issue is with some of the story decisions not. A craving of some battle when they already fought the manhunters in mid season finale. You thought a new villain would be presented and they woulf fight them or fight the killer for Hal's honor? to me that would have been goofy writing no matter who the killer was.
What villain could they construct that would be a good fight or built up throughout the season and logical.
If you were watching the show that is the last thing that should have been expected. You not liking the visuals is one thing and valid you can not like the visuals. But you not liking the visuals and saying that has nothing to do with you desire for spectacle while posting a salty tweet about spectacle makes no sense.
what do you mean you wanted more fun and spectacle. the show delivered humor throughout built a bond of Hal and John to the point where people are begging them to revive Hal even if it retcons in a dark tale of murder and a darker story.
not everything is constructed for comic book fans that crave spectacle. I said him having a green outline while flying would help pop more but even if he had the green outline and suit what last with people will be the writing and emotional moments NOT the SPECTACLE that they often forget as soon as they get a new spectacle
Manhunters are different lol has nothing to do with him
Damn thought he was one of their species that joins the Justice League
Cause doesn’t he also disguise as a human?

its all spectacle I posted the definition of spectacle
You cant just change what words mean to convenience yourself

Nobody said I expected it to end like Game of Thrones
