  • Heard a lot of good things, I need to tap in

  • So maybe Guy was the natural successor to Hal without these manipulations? All they need is Guardians distracted or convinced to not intervene when/if Hal dies for the ring to bypass John. I'm starting to see the GL mythos coming together if this is the route it takes. Does John deep down truly lack fear or was forced into suppressing it? If latter he's not naturally ready to be a GL yet

I mean we see a bit of one in the preview for the rest of the season

I’m not going to spoil myself, f*** that.

  • Oblivion X

Nah the appearance of metahumans wasn't 3 years before superman it was 300 years before superman

3 years before superman was just when superman announced himself

ahhhhh thanks, i haven't seen since theaters

I think the lady he f\*\*\*ed is an alien because she interrogates him and he just blindly believes her. Wouldn't even be shocked if she killed Hal

she was sus from the jump that’s exactly what I thought. We will be proven right

Guy Gardner making a cameo. them retconning the appearance of metahumans (3 years in superman) to not count for green lanterns...things like that

Edit: Oh someone already responded with that

    Ignore this

makes no sense why John instantly trusted answering all of her questions in a new environment. They trusted her enough to have s\*\*\*

could also be showing that John’s green (no pun intended) as s\*\*\* as was noted by Hal over and over. Would Hal have done the same? Prob. But John is very much a novice as well

I never try to re-watch stuff, I'm a 1 time watch type of person, might have to incase I missed stuff

  • This first episode was f***ing good

  • earthwalka

    Hmmmm

Interesting first episode. I like Kyle chandler. Aaron Pierre feels very stiff. Perhaps that’s just what the character calls for but even him sleeping with the wife was weird. Their interaction didn’t feel flirtatious at all. She honestly seemed like she was interrogating him so when they cut them in the car, it felt off. There was no chemistry or tension there at all.

The lantern stuff is intriguing. I don’t know anything about green lantern at all so I hope the show explains some stuff. The interrogation scene is the best scene for sure.

Gotta remind myself that Damon lindelof is behind this. Gotta trust the process.

Good first episode but it’s easy to distinguish the parts of the script that were written by King & which were written by Damon.

The interrogation scene for example was classic Lindelof. He’s the only one who would come up with a gag that an alien posing as rural white man in Nebraska would give himself away by not having an opinion on Obama lol

  • those feel like the only genuine engagements/observations made about the craft of the episode itt. everyone else jus offering uncritical praise n getting myopic bout comic lore easter eggs

I get less True Detective vibes from the main characters and more a reverse role Men in Black where the younger agent is more serious and the older more loose

I’m sure the alien stuff is influencing that opinion too

True detective vibes I guess from the weird town or investigating a murder but a lot of what sold me on true detective was the existentialism and philosphy
