It's unfortunate that this is kind of true, but Oppenheimer made almost a billion and has quite a bit of depth for a mainstream blockbuster.

The deeper dive prolly wouldn't be nearly as fun for the general audience.

tbh for what it is, I think Barbie did enough. People weren't expecting gender role talk at all. any deeper and it would've been more preachy than it already was.
