about to watch
I like lady bird more but greta levelled tf up on this. You’d think this kind of movie was done by someone later in their career
This was great. The story structure was a bit of a mess and a little jarring with all the constant time jumping but I enjoyed it. The cast was so good especially Saoirse and Florence
My favorite film of the year so far, ahead of even Parasite and The Lighthouse. This was such a well executed and stirring film that resonated with me as a writer. It made me want to be better and more assertive about my work. Ronan and Pugh are fantastic in this, both of them developing their characterizations a ton. Lush cinematography, top tier production design and great costuming. I lost track of what was going on a few times with all the intercuts, but that wasn't a huge deal. 9/10 from me.
Is it anything like Lady Bird? if so, i'll hate it.
not a fan of lady bird but i loved this

Two coming of age films but pretty different. That one felt more like a teen film whereas this one is more adult despite much of it revolving around teenagers. It's also more of a film for people into the technical aspects of filmmaking.
Just watched, it’s gate crashed my top 5 of the year I think. Characters were great, along with the pacing. Saoirse, Florence and timothee were all incredible
Is this good cause I could watch it but I despise literally 95% of all Greta Gerwig-related things so yeah

For context, I think both Frances Ha and Lady Bird are pretty bad.

I think it sets a similar tone and mood to ladybird but they’re definitely their own films. I’d say this was better than ladybird
I enjoyed the movie and maybe a rewatch where the f***ing movie wasn't zoomed in as all hell and these bratty f***ers talking all the time would let me just focus on the movie.
Seen it today, great film imo. The actors killed their roles especially the one playing Jo. Time skips got a little confusing for a while but it gets easy to see after a bit.
8.5/10 for me. Definitely one of the best of the year
