idk Jay's role with Griselda but his tape with Larry is such a summer groove :datass:
This joint is another hard clossic, TF x Conway x Roc
Man what’s been going on with Al’s drums lately?
They sound like stock sounds and mixed terribly. The ones on that Wayne track are really really bad. Where’s the Location Remote type s***?
@bread as another Al stan whats your take on this? You agree?
benny picked the most generic sounding beats for his debut
big miss tbh. he dont even sound comfortable on this s***

I think there is a clear quality control issue with the level of output Alchemist has been churning out lately. I agree that up until ALC Records really took off every single drop felt meticulously tended to and pristine, even if the music itself wasn’t good, which ironically made everything that came out good regardless. And a big chunk of this is the mixing lately I agree.
Griselda Express was like a scrapped version of Thowy’s Revenge
Every time Alc ventures into I don’t wanna say trap but more modern production like Slow Roll and Big Dog it sounds f***ing awful and I wish he would not force that. Like seriously when Big Dog dropped I was like what a waste of studio time and talent
TMVTL was the highlight and even that was annoying because the drums on that were HORRIBLY engineered. That 2nd beat could’ve been a 15/10 classic Alc beat but it’s only an 8/10 because of how the drums were programmed

I feel like that “trap” style only worked well for him on Willie Lloyd
I don’t know who to blame tho because even if Eddie Sancho is the one f***ing up the mix it still gets sent back to Al and he’s giving it the green light
And yeah TMVTL got me heated. That would’ve easily been a 10/10 track but for some reason it’s got the worst mix of any track on the whole album
TMVTL is f***ing nutso
I feel like such a music nerd when the mix of a song legitimately ruins it for me
Still can't believe he wasted big dog verses with that hook
Big Dog hook is hilariously bad which is another positive I guess
Damn son why the Griselda B-Team putting out more heat than the OGs… haven’t listened but damn this thread got me sad

That thick ass snare f***ing ANNOYS me bro like kills the bounce of that beat
Thank god for Boldy
even his random projects were a little questionable though

I honestly think Eddie and Joe Laporta are the dream team and crucial to his sound. It has to be something else
I also think it’s partially on the rappers too and the degree of control they have in the studio. I mean listen to an album like Faith is a Rock where ALC is firing on all cylinders and doing crazy ass s*** like Pray For Him and Thug Anthem. It’s so obvious when Alc is the one in charge because the s*** usually sounds way better lol, same with Flying High.
