I like what Hit-boy did with Nas, but I'm not over here trying to hear Benny over his production. Benny thinks the world is over here gushing for him and don't care what kind of beats he raps over, because we're already bought into Benny. When that's not the case, he still has to prove himself worthy of our attention. We don't just want Benny. We want him on production that he will sound best over. (Daringer, Alchemist, Premier, etc.) We've fallen in love with the Griselda sound and aesthetic, not Benny rapping over modern / trendy production and showing us how "diverse" he is.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Exactly what I was thinking. Hit Boy sound is too mainstream for my liking, plus Benny just shines like crazy over grimy s***. As good a rapper as he is, he kinda becomes obscured behind more average beats. He thrives on that dark/grimy s***:

NOBODY wants to hear him over mainstream production. We don't care about how good he raps or his punchlines are if he hits us with a total 180 like that. Just deliver the goods over the Griselda sound and diversify it by adding weirder and darker touches by other producers. I'm not trying to pigeonhold him to a certain aesthetic, but the reason why we fell in love with their music in the first place is because of that very thing. So Benny straying away from it doesn't make any sense.
S*** is mind-boggling. I couldn't even listen to that project without editing out all those gotdamn skits and some of the features.
Hella confusing. This is way better
whats everyone fav wrestling track from griselda ? or sampled in a track
Hard for me to decide that tbh they got so many
Mr. Fiji is definitely near the top for me...Conway, West, and DZA (if you got the version with him too) all killed it and that beat is ridiculous...Luger is also nasty...Perfect Plex...Summer Slam 88 obviously as it was one of the first Gunn tracks that made me a fan of his

Benny x Hit-Boy is gonna be crazy and I'm not a big Hit-Biy fan either.
But if we get focused Benny over s*** like Fear Of God and Car #85, its gonna be a special project.

I wanna hear him on mainstream production tho lol.
I think hes too dope an MC to be limited to one aesthetic. He could have a broader appeal without crossing over.
