but I get the critique. For instance, WMTSS is kinda a generic take on the Griselda street rap sound; it's kind of the end of that way of doing things. So after that, there's a choice to make. They could go in the Roc Marci lane and be even more left-field and dig deeper into the cult-following stuff, but that's clearly not what their ambitions are.

but I appreciate your point that they sort of went from generic Griselda-style production to generic mainstream beats. that's an interesting critique.

that said, I think PIM2 has some of the most exciting production of a GXFR project to date.

Plugs 2 was okay, Harry fraud is one of the rare trap producers I largely f*** with, but the mixing/mastering on that album was terrible

I defiantly understand what you’re saying, it’s just trap beats are so played out and overused, every time I hear a rolling high hat on a track I literally do an eye roll, there are a few exceptions when used sparingly like 27 summers by Nas, smile by jay z or the track madlib and gibbs did.

But on top of the high hats you’ve also got a weed carrier talking up real estate on what, 4 tracks out of 11?

yeah I hear you. there are some cool takes on trap production recently, like Lil Gray's album and Est Gee's album (not to mention WLR), where things are much darker and heavier and more distorted with way fewer hi-hats.

and I don't mind the DrumWorks signees tbh. just on my first couple listens this morning, opinion could change.

yeah it could've been mixed better but I really enjoyed the way Harry Fraud sampled there. it felt like a natural progression of the GXFR sound in the way you're describing. like the samples were soulful but in a kind of 70s am radio/breezy way with a bit of funk in them.

Conway’s performance is pretty great here, lots of new flows. The songs with non trap beats are the best ones. But this album feels weird, almost like a contractual obligation or something. But he rapping his ass off here and if GDMM comes correct with the production...look out

It would be been a really nice project if it was mixed better and had better features, and I wouldn’t be adverse to that type of trap sound, like I said fraud is one of the few trap producers who you can tell actually crafts the track with love and not just some bubblegum s*** mass produced to make some quick money

Nothing new. Good thing about this forum is that any time we get official news about an upcoming project, it'll be posted here very shortly afterwards after it's been announced.

This is what ppl some ppl itt been asking for. Conway's always rapped over other styles of production but he hadn't really included them in albums, just been doing it in freestyles.

    "They should branch out"

Hope now ppl will realize how Daringer has been the glue to Griselda. I want them to blow up too, but do it in the way they've always been.

Yup. Identity is lost at this point
