Who is saying that ITT?
And the theory that it came from a wet market didn’t get this much push back and was a lot more offensive to Chinese culture than a possible lab leak would be. The wet market claims gave an implication that Chinese people took part in a culture that was disease ridden and gross, and that caused this virus. I don’t really see how it is gross or dirty to have created a virus in a lab.
The stereotype about Chinese people is that they are dirty, their restaurants ignore hygienic practices, and that their construction work is shoddy. This line of thinking directly informs the lab leak conspiracy.
it adds to the notion that china is a supervillian state ofc
Thinking of a government as powerful as the Chinese government as potentially being dangerous isn’t the same as viewing Chinese people as dirty rats
Example, I think the North Korean government is dangerous, but I don’t think the people of North Korea are dangerous.
That the Chinese government can be a danger for our way of living is not wrong tho
Lol Xi Jinping isn't going to stop you from gorging yourself on fast food and melting your brain on Netflix original series'
would you hate the ussr too if it were around?
Everyone should. Whole UN Security Council is trash

go ahead and tell us why the north korean government is dangerous

What are you talking about? I don’t want a war with China and I don’t think any war the us had launched since ww2 (except maybe Kosovo/Bosnia) was worth even fighting

That’s... not really anything that’s crossed my mind or even been a consideration here for me? Lol I haven’t seen anybody suggest that as the reasoning. The reasoning most people I’ve seen think it’s a possibility is that the only known bat colony that carries COVID is located a thousand miles away from ground zero of the outbreak, but the lab that studies bat COVID strains that had multiple employees go to the hospital in November 2019 is located in ground zero.
I'm clearly not talking bout capitalism but bout democracy and human rights breh..
none of those things are present in the american way of life
go ahead and tell us why the north korean government is dangerous
Lmaooo of course you defend the North Korean government too
Lmaooo of course you defend the North Korean government too
Nah go ahead and elaborate. How are they dangerous
when 99% of people are saying "these people are dirty dangerous rats who threaten our safety and our way of life" you kinda feel the need to push back against it
Maybe weirdos on Twitter are being genocidal, but aside from the odd psycho, most people here are explicitly against the Chinese government
Lol Xi Jinping isn't going to stop you from gorging yourself on fast food and melting your brain on Netflix original series'
They can take hold of TSMC and stop a lot of modern tech in the world tho

Funny thing is i'm not American and i know the USA isn't an ideal place to live in... I know the influence of rich people and corporate lobbyists is crazy over there... but does that make China less dangerous for the (Western) world tho?

no and its a good thing. china is a good thing for the global south and therefore for humanity

In what way, shape or form? Like I don’t think it’s keeping Africa poor, but I don’t think the west is either. They both do the same thing in buying resources from poor countries, big difference is China doesn’t care if a country pretends to act nice

Racism operates on unspoken assumptions and affects everyone subconsciously
The pandemic has been the greatest gift to the U.S security apparatus because they've wanted a cold war with China for so long and this provides the perfect impetus, because now they have something tangible that people can be angry about. We saw how people jumped on the "wet market" story because it confirms everything people believe about the Chinese.
People are completely ignoring the fact that COVID19 samples were discovered in Italy and Spain in early 2019:

and what if Chinese people support their government?
Nah go ahead and elaborate. How are they dangerous
I could, however, I’ve had about 25 discussions with you on here and it always ends up with me typing out a lot of stuff and you just saying “nuh uh” while acting incredibly intelligent while never explaining your line of thinking, so it’s kinda pointless to continue
Look no further than this very thread 2 pages ago

Thats where we disagree then. The USA, Europe and China f*** over the global south, but you think China has an amazing government and they're good for humanity
