TheoryThe fact that China so handily defeated it with no vaccine by summer 2020 is kinda sketchy to me lol. They hit 4,000 deaths in April 2020 and in the time since only added 950 deaths. With a bigger population that has 150% more density in the population, as well as being the first exposed so they had more time for it to spread. We had 10 times the deaths by April 2020 and now have 150 times the deaths. They only reported 100 deaths from April to November

And the theory that it came from a wet market didn’t get this much push back and was a lot more offensive to Chinese culture than a possible lab leak would be. The wet market claims gave an implication that Chinese people took part in a culture that was disease ridden and gross, and that caused this virus. I don’t really see how it is gross or dirty to have created a virus in a lab.

China has a strong national government that can actually get s*** done. They restricted travel and built a hospital in Wuhan in a matter of weeks.
The US government doesn’t even have the capacity to do much besides send troops places. Institutions here have been gutted and privatized for profit so thoroughly that they couldn’t do it if they tried. The extent of their reaction to covid was, again, billions for corporations at the expense of the little guy
Instead of handling COVID strongly and successfully like China, the US waffled over arguments about civil liberties and just ended up sending more billions to the billionaires

China is also a dictatorship that can lock up people in their homes if they want and place cameras everywhere to keep people actually inside... in democracies that's not possible
