love this game. the best GTA storywise and the DLCs only add to that excellent world building in this

I remember being disappointed by the lack of customization in this game. No stats, no modifying cars, no tattoos etc. The physics, melee combat and that creative enemy health around the aiming reticle thing are probably my favorite things about the game (can't really remember most of the plot)

I feel like a lot of people switched up over the years though Public reception to the game wasn't this glowing when it dropped, GTA 5 being better was pretty much the unanimous opinion. But that changed since GTA online, 5 becoming the best selling entertainment product of all time and all the re-releases. It's weird seeing people say "4>5" all of a sudden, that wasn't happening around 2013-2015

best gta story by far. the only thing that kinda brings the game down in my eyes is terrible car physics, its not enjoyable at all in terms of driving

Yeah I was kinda the same, wasn't feeling it at launch feature & mission wise after coming from San Andreas at first. But it was a new start similar to GTA 3 so they had to begin somewhere.

Realized how great it was after GTA 5, which I wasn't a fan of at all. GTA 4 had a good gritty story, atmosphere, and antagonists unlike GTA 5.
