Rakim is an important OG of hip hop and one of the best to ever do it. Without him, we wouldnt have Jay Z's run and hes responsible for Kendricks whole s*** too. But he aint change the genre and hip hop generation like Gucci did.

    These sentences contradict each other

Without LA FLARE there is no

    -Waka
    -Migos
    -Chief Keef
    -Young Thug
    -Metro Boomin
    -808 Mafia
    -Mike Will Made It
    -Zaytoven

That's the whole last decade of hip hop .

    Dustheads in shambles

oh my god what would hip hop ever do

Come on man stop it. Whether you like their music or not lotta these cats brought forth innovative ideas and styles on a production tip and with flows and melodies. We cannot deny that they were ever present and popular throughout the last 10-15 years.

808 Mafia, Zaytoven, Metro Boomin, Mike Will Made It all had hands in putting together the biggest songs, albums, and mixtapes of the last decade. Chief Keef brought drill music to the mainstream, and that's a sound that took over the US and UK.

Niggas itt acting like Gucci Mane's contributions and influence doesn't count because it isn't "real hip-hop"...like is this the mid 2000s again bro? I'm confused

Gucci has been influential in hip-hop the same way Rakim, Nas, Wu Tang, etc have been. All of these dudes brought forth a new style and way of making music that has left a lasting impression on the genre to this day. Why do y'all try so hard to deny that as if we haven't been living through it, personally witnessing it from 2005 to present day.

It's okay to give props to Gucci Mane while also being fans of Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Jay Z, etc...been doing it most of my life. I promise you nothing bad is going to happen. You aren't going to be looked at as weird. Saying Gucci is an influential figure in hip-hop has been an accepted and proven statement for decades
