One of my male students was trying to talk up this girl during a downtime in class, I can't remember what it was about, I think some really niche gamer s***, and I was cringing inside at how one sided this conversation was as he explained things. "Uh huh. Uh huh. Mmm hmm. Yeah. Uh huh. Sure." The girl is just staring off into space and this guy is just not getting the message.
Legit after class he started talking to me and I gave him some tips on how to notice when a girl does not give a s*** about what you're saying, like really basic human communication stuff. He was embarrassed but it's something you can get better at.
My wife is actually really bad at this too
she'll bring up really esoteric s*** from her hobbies with people she barely knows and go on about it for 5 minutes then gets all embarrassed when the conversation doesn't go the way she wanted.I do the same thing but also try not to make it awkward, kind of like telling a story. but yeah if people aren't really tuned in its dropped quick
