I am pretty sure they restarted and rescoped. The open world and large world lead to changes. Also was going to be a human, covenant flood mode. The series S has it appears been a gift and a curse all generation. With sometimes questioning if its held games back scope wise and if it has how will they address that later in the generation if they can't push it further besides saying "this can only play on series s with streaming " which would demand online only like Redfall

People speaking philosophical, but if they just made a Forge mode and let you play f***ing Jenga and Fat Kid then it’d really be that simple and the game would be popular.

Look at Roblox. My niece and nephew play Russian Roulette and f***ing game shows on that s*** for the fun of it, but every triple AAA multiplayer cinematic experience boils down to a meta and a ranked mode. Sad

Halo 3 they could only make money on map packs and servers cost money to maintain. In that case though Halo 3 lead to such an install base and people paying for online that both Sony and microsoft need that multiplayer game where they are going to take a perceived loss in a way or not be so focused on instant battle pass, buying guns and skins. Focus on the gameplay . Make it so good someone is willing to buy a console to be apart of the conversation.

I mean when you lose Bungie and Epic for gears like they invested all this in Call of Duty when the real move would be trying to buy the entire team that created their best online experiences. Sony just gave bungie 1.25 billion bonuses because they didn't just want Bungie they wanted to retain the talent so they wouldn't leave. Because creatives leaving has been plauging the industry after big moves. So they are left with a skeleton of the company with none of the soul that made the games what they were. Also not enough foresight to adapt to competitors

its last of us 2 multiplayer mode that got delayed . we don't know exactly whether its pve or pvp or what is planned we do know there is some story to it.

yep and it never really shifted back since then. Yes Siege exist and Siege some what keeps the old focus but still battlepass model seen as only way. They have supported it at least with maps
