To clarify I think Halo 1 is the best MP experience for any shooter ever, but I put H2 above it cause it fits my play style better

So H2 > H1 > H3 > H5 > HR > H4

Halo Reach with no bloom and no sprint beats out H3 by miles though but that’s not representative of the entire game so it gets a lower ranking

Man I don’t know what the f*** happened to CE on MCC but this time last year I could hop in doubles with my boy and we could clear a game 50 kills and like 5 deaths between us

I recently got back into CE but man it’s literally just sweaty as hell and there’s no way I can find a game and not get swept

My good friend I know in real life not just through halo set like 3 map kill count records on reach, like of all time in the last year

I can understand and also acknowledge 343 flopped MCC from the jump but I’m glad they stuck with it and kept providing more things to do

They promised betas for every new halo game and I get at this point it’s way too late for them to change anything, it’s more just a hype driver but there’s literally no time left for them to have one later on

Lmaoo so the story behind that is that everyone wanted to play H1 when it was finally online so the initial playerbase was nowhere near indicative of how good faithful Halo 1 players really are

Once the population simmered down, you ran into people who never stopped playing Halo 1

There was a whole community of H1 players that knew the games mechanics inside and out (which are a lot more complicated/hard to keep track of than any other halo’s mechanisms) and would play on XBC (system link through your pc to play online) and hold yearly tournaments specifically for H1 2v2 at a beach house (still happens as far as I know)

You started running into the products of those 30+ year old halo veterans. I can’t even go into H1 playlist without getting washed lmao the skill gap is so damn big it blows most other FPSs out of the water for that alone

Prob cause your shots from the battle rifle had a random spread to them that made every fight at least 6 shots when you only needed 4 to kill lol

I’m mainly talking about arena shooters, of course there’s some innovation but at their core they are similar in how they work. It’s no different with BR’s. People that moan about Battle Royales make no sense to me.
