Just got MCC and playing 3 multiplayer had me lowkey tearful. S*** so classic
Storming the fort on High Ground
Finally the roll put begins lmao. A whole year of waiting since the trailer 😭😭 good thing halo 3 has been keeping me busy om pc
Oh s*** i didn't think about PC. Maybe I should cop it on pc
Here’s the problem many FPS face...
mid to late 2000s everyone wanted to follow the CoD formula (everyone failed besides CoD)
Strip any FPS of any competitive feel. Lack of true skill ranking system. Garbage XP inspired ranking system. Winning or losing doesn’t mean s*** because you’ll still rank up regardless. When halo absorbed this formula it’s gone downhill ever since...
Unbalanced maps, gameplay, and etc
The craze now is Battle Royales....
CoD and Battle Royales are the worst thing to happen to shooters.
I have 0 faith in 343 after the botch attempt of MCC and the handlings of H4 and H5...
Why fix things that aren’t broken...

I disagree to an extent, the FPS medium has always been “copy the latest trend and make your own spin on it”, you either get a huge success or you fumble it. Halo happened to be in the former camp unfortunately

So according to this logic
Half Life, GoldenEye, Unreal, Rainbow Six, Medal of Honor (can keep going) were all just piggybacking off of each others’ successful trends with ‘their own spin on it’. Gonna need examples cause these games are all radically different imo.
I think another factor is that it is just inherently more difficult to do well in Halo multiplayer
In Cod a new player is gonna get a few kills every game even if they are matched up with better or more experienced players
Good luck in Halo lol
Also I would be shocked if Halo Infinite doesn’t release with some sort of live service-like mode, BR or something else
sure but games like Valorant and PUBG were huge on launch as well and lasted for a long time (or still are)
There always does have to be a balancing act where your game can be flexible and appeal to people just getting into it and wanting to play casual and also for people who want to get really good at it. Thats why Halo eventually fell off because they went too casual with all these armor abilities and sprint to make the gameplay more "exciting" but at the same time ruined the balance of their design and it just became a fast food FPS at that point.
COD, Warzone, Overwatch, PUBG, Valorant, Fortnite, etc have all enjoyed huge success because they are balanced in their gameplay and it is friendly to casual gamers while also having competitive modes where someone being really good at the game can clearly show that skill over others.
sad to see only 50k people playing halo 3 on launch
franchise is done
Game pass doesn’t show population does it? I have it on Steam.
Blame 343 for sabotaging MCC

the Halo 3 port is actually really great. Perfectly plays like Halo 3 with no bugs. The theater mode is a little janky and they need to add assists in the game, but it plays great overall.
But none of that matters if the community isn't there because Halo 3 was the game it was thanks to how many people were playing it

50k for a 13 year old game on one platform is pretty mad

My shots feel like they register a lot better on PC than they do on Xbox One

Reach was 100k. 50k is amazing for this late into mcc release

Well these games all have their cult status and so does halo mainly for story. Halo just so happened to change up multiplayer sandbox

Reach is often considered the game that killed Halo as well
I expected much better for what most people consider the best of the series and a first time PC port as well

Tbh more people enjoyed reach than halo 3 just cause of popularity and the old guard of halo was replaced by Reach

How does this answer my post in relation to him saying FPSs never had innovation
Like sure they don’t NOW but in the early days of FPS developers were actually trying to go outside the box and be innovative. That’s why those games are cult classics.

No..... just no
Would be willing to toss y’all at your favorite halo game 1v1 while debating with you how Bungie and 343 failed an entire fan base and I’ll win in both instances

Got top 64 twice at Major League Gaming events in Halo with last minute teams. Was too young/raging to be taken seriously as a teammate for the better teams/players I knew that were placing top 32/16
I had endless smurf accounts with 50s in H3 MLG cause I no-life’d tf out of Halo
Got montages too feel free to search flood halo montage or wv halo montage on YouTube and you’ll find me.

I meant game ranking fav to least but that’s hard as f*** tbh
When 5 came out, I was still super young but placed top 200 worldwide in the arena playlists, breakout, swat, and slayer
My first game was 3 me and my dad used to play it all the time
