The naysayers are usually yt people who can't relate to that black trauma, album is non inclusive, jarring, beautiful and always worth a listen. Kendrick outdid himself because after a 5 hear wait, he made a very brave decision to go left field. It's not flawless, but it is the best of its class, that mature album thang, a classic once you understand the concept of its world.
Remember listening to mirror in a dark place in my life, incessantly replaying it, I find that each song captures a specific moment. Can never relate to auntie diaries doe
absolute classic if youve ever been through anything at all
it’s subpar music bro, s*** doesn’t sound good

I will say the ‘hype’ tracks are arguably better than the introspective ones

Better known as myself I’m a demigod
Every thought is creative sometimes I’m afraid of my open mind
Most opinions about this album from kids born after 9/11 arent even worth replying to.
Real life hasnt hit them yet.
Listened to it while doing self care + running errands and I swear it just hits better when you've lived more between listens
Still Kendrick's first miss imo Some amazing songs on it though. Prayer should've been on it, We Cry Together and possibly Mr Morale should've been cut

It explores a lot of real topics a lot of us downplay or don't want to face, I hate to sound pretentious but it really is an album meant for hurt people wanting to heal and do better.
People look for the wrong things in this album but will get it eventually
IMO some of his best writing and songs are on this album.
Not sure I can say classic yet, though it took me some time to say DAMN. was a classic too
Great album though, these have been some of the most challenging years of my life thus far and some of these songs gave me real game and got me through.
