why yall disliked the 2nd sinister? it answered some questions behind the mystery of the character and that ending is bone shattering

I couldn’t finish it, so I’m not sure what the ending was

It’s been a while since I attempted to watch it. I was a huge fan of the first one, but my least favorite part of the first were the ghost kids. I felt like the second one focused more on the ghost kids, and I didn’t think deputy so and so was a particularly strong lead. I remember thinking it just felt like a cash grab.

Maybe I’ll give it another shot sometime

If hangover never got a sequel it would go down in comedy history like superbad instead of feeling like rich people showing off their vacation photos...''here's us in vegas, here's us in bangkok'' type s***

Hangover is the kind of movie where it felt like there was no real way to be successful with a sequel. Part 2 was criticized (rightfully so) for being the same exact thing as the first movie. Part 3 tried to do everything different which made it not really feel like a proper sequel.

That’s one where I’ve bounced around sequel ideas and never been able to come up with anything worthwhile

Well, for this type of setting any introverted mysterious 40 yr old alcoholic looking guy would work as the lead lol so I kinda feel you

as far as the ghost kids go....the first one had more real s***. So, if from the get go they balanced ghost s*** with reality correctly that wouldnt be an issue but they were needed for the second one to not feel like the same s*** with just a different number at the end of the title y'know?

I think I would have liked to see them move further into the tapes and away from the ghost kids. The tapes were some of the best scenes in horror of the 2010’s imo (which is pretty high praise cause I think the 2010’s were a golden age for horror- possibly best era of all time).

Ideally the first movie would have scrapped the ghost kids. Since the second movie had to build off that, I understand why they’d include them. But I feel like they could have redesigned them and made them less corny, or at the least just minimize their presence.

Just spit balling a plot here:

Deputy so and so- aware of how the curse works- tries to keep people from buying the house, successfully turning people away from buying Ethan Hawke’s final house. He may start to encounter some weird s*** due to interfering with the curse. Eventually a new family moves in despite the deputy’s warnings, eventually threatening to get a restraining order on the deputy for perceived harassment. The family inevitably finds themselves experiencing weird s*** and would reach back out to the deputy to figure out what to do. Deputy explains that they can’t move out or they’d put themselves in the exact scenario the curse needs. So they choose to stay and assume they’re safer that way. The daughter is seemingly possessed by Baghuul and the family is at a loss of what to do. The mother is slowly driven insane and ultimately murders the daughter in order to protect the rest of her family.

Might f*** around and watch the movie tonight lol don’t tell me if I’m close to the actual plot

Just watched the second one again

Watching it just now, I don’t think I ever got very far into it and must have just decided it was trash based off the small pieces I saw. It actually wasn’t that bad

Not as great as the first, but the ghost kids were handled a lot better and had a spooky atmosphere. Overhated

Pineapple Express 2, or the Superbad/Pineapple Express crossover

The original plan for the sequel to The Dark Knight, iirc Joker would've been on trial, DiCaprio would've been The Riddler, and Dent would become Two-Face in the 3rd movie instead of the 2nd

Alien 3 had some cool treatments that never made it to production.

One was similar to the main plot except the planet the Xenos invade is an manufactured satellite/planet made of wood where Monk separatists live without any technology or contact.

Then there was a scrapped idea where Ridley and Newt end up on a Blade Runner style planet and are tasked with being the “predator” and hunt the Xenos down that have invaded.

Alien 4 had them crashing down to earth for the final act/battle of Joss Whedons initial script.
