SecretGardenAt 14 I didn't know how to respond to what he was doing. At 14 I didn't really see anything different between me and 22 except that he had his own house and a job.
If I had the amount of anti s***offender information we do now I'd have said something at the time. I was in 8th grade. I had no way of knowing what to do at the time.
When I finally spoke about it at 17 it got ignored because he was in the military. When I finally outed him again at 21 a bunch of other children he abused came forward too. I did it during the metoo movement so it got attention and it turns out I wasn't his first.
I wasn't an adult. I was a child. For all it's flaws that's why I'm glad metoo happened.

Dude this metoo s*** was the reason I was able to call out my abuser who took advantage of me when I was 14 and he was 22. It saved my life.
I can also acknowledge the bad parts of it but it helped me a lot.

What do you mean by this exactly? As someone in the military there HUGE on anti-sexual harassment, assault, rape etc and have no tolerance for it. S***, they're about as vocal about it as MeToo was.

you have to possibly admit that having sexual relations with a minor IS WRONG, bc someone at that age - the age of 14, for instance, is not either physically nor MENTALLY developed at an age in which CONSENT with an adult is possible
and then you would ask why they didn’t immediately come forward ??? THEY F***ING CANT EVEN CONSENT OR COMPREHEND S***IN ANY LEGITIMATE SENSE.
as if THAT is wrong yet they SHOULD somehow have the physical and mental capabilities to confront their abuse immediately, or that they should have the foresight and understanding to do so at the time - just f***ing hoping and praying it would work for them and not backfire horribly, as has historically been the case up until recently.

This was 2010 but it still was awkward at the time and it would have forced me to be open about my sexuality about a time that I wasn't ready.
Glad things aren't as bad for kids now.
