How did it come out? Carpentry is something that might be something to do as a hobby. Plus it's a nice skill to have.

I did as a kid during this fun summer program partnered with Home Depot.

We even included a peanut butter pine cone on it.

Don’t remember how to construct it, but I’m sure it’s easy.

My uncle made one out of a kfc bucket

Cool. The biggest concern when it comes to building these would probably just be how well they can hold up over time. Not ideal to have to build one every spring. Thinking it's a good start to carpentry to build small things like this!

Sounds like a good time as a kid. Those summer programs/camps were so much fun growing up.

Definitely worth trying this out as good starter project/hobby.

I've built more complex stuff than a bird feeder. all you need for this is a hand saw, maybe a jig for it to get angled cuts, a drill, a drill bit, and some screws. there's plans online

some simple furniture like stools and a table, a couple gates for my parents property, and a few picture frames

i wanna get more hand tools myself because for some reason i feel less pressure to make it perfect but more satisfaction out of doing it. hand chisels, hand saws, carving knives, just feels good to use them things

Have you ever tried whittling a block of wood before? Might be one of the most intriguing and fulfilling things to do while sitting on a porch!

yea i have but i still aint made anything i like as much as a few wooden spoons i've bought over the years lol

dont have the expertise these mfs do, or maybe its just patience idk lmao

It's really just patience and practice to learn. You'll get it really quickly and then continue to gain more and more of an expertise skill set.
