im sorry but already great grime tunes dont need to have some average drill beats put behind them
your talents are probably better spent doing something else
Lool I never said the og is worse, just a take on it, check out my other stuff if you don’t fw this one 🙂
Nasty is one of the hardest diss tracks ever and that beat is flawless
classic Wiley. best uk producer since George Martin.
Sampled by Kanye in 2018 too. the influence is strong
Ill be the first to roast a UK rapper but Skepta is an OG. Great songs. You are a wasteyute.
brits acting like anyone outside the uk f***ed with this is hilarious
youd get laughed off the aux cord if you played this in public
a lot of Wiley's sounds have been absorbed by Drill tho now and look at how those producers are blowing up internationally.
Also, James Blake used some classic grime wiley sounds on the new Flatbush Zombies song.
Diplo has used Wiley's sounds too.
The influence is all over Kanye's post 2011 work.
Grime isn't for the US, it's for us. But the influence is actually there. I don't think you understand how groundbreaking the whole scene since the early 2000s has been.
HOT TAKE
Ignorance is Bliss is his best album
/HOT TAKE
i love the early mixtapes the best tbh
Skepta trash stormzy n headie n Giggs way better
Giggs i get.
but stormzy? lmfao. even if you don't f*** with Skepta's rapping, beats like That's Not Me, It Ain't Safe, On A Level, Bullet From a Gun etc. are incredible.
All British rap is terrible, with the exception of the odd American English acts like Slick Rick and MF Doom.
Man said slick rick and mf doom
England has an entire decade on us
so many people sound influenced by Giggs to me. i got giggs songs from like 2006 on my laptop lol
and some of the sounds i hear fairly regularly from drill producers are from grime
All British rap is terrible, with the exception of the odd American English acts like Slick Rick and MF Doom.
a lot of the people like Skepta and Wiley i almost don't see as rappers. Especially Wiley he has some great bars but he comes out rave and soundsystem culture, he's a MC in the most obvious way
But you can't tell me Ms Dynamite doesn't sound amazing to anyone
Or that Kano, JME, Dizzee, Ghetts don't have incredible lyrics, whether you f*** with their accents or not. There's a reason Jay called Kano one of the greatest ever before he was even that popular in the uk.
At the end of the day tho it's not really for Americans. personally i enjoy rappers from all countries
