    That whole weird Swedish scene is not hip hop

    Kodak was the last new rapper that got me really excited that didn't pan out

    he had the talent to be one of them, but all the bullshit besides music really limited his trajection

    and even kodak has been in the games for years already

    Oh yeah there’s blatant contradictions in the album and how processes the fallout from the battle. One moment he will say it’s all a nothing burger, another moment he will say he met the grim reaper lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s genuinely believed both in the past few years.

    I think the battle fallout was significant to him, and he probably wrote these songs over the course of different periods of the past however many years it’s been since the battle.

    There’s also some moments of forced wordplay for sure.

    Production is great. A good amount of the songs, for such a bitter album, are catchy.

    It’s a saga cult of personality sorta album for die hard fans, but pretty catchy for casual fans who aren’t entrenched in all this s***. So that’s where I find it to be successful.

    as an addendum to your end point there, that's pretty much been the sentiment for every drake solo project since scorpion lol there was just more to unpack here because it was following up such a grand event that was the beef
