    No it's here to stay but it's not gonna be the groundbreaking genre that it's been forever.

    More or less

    50s=80s formative years
    60s=90s golden era
    70s=2000s-2010s, progressive and evolutionary period
    Current period is the 80s and new wave and hair metal of course

    Question is, who’s going to have that last hurrah (Nevermind) before it’s officially over

    1910=music started
    1920-1950=classical music
    1960-1970=golden age of music for old singers
    1980=perfect age for rock rebels
    1990=improved good music and also the year for goths and punks
    2000=music is still good and gangsta songs started to appear
    2001-2006=music is changing
    2007=ghetto music but good and relaxing like akon dont matter
    2008=some crappy music is starting to appear
    2009=crappy music is spreading
    2010=you gotta be kidding me this isnt music justin bieber
    2011=R.l.P music goodbye...

    this has kinda been a parallel since the mumble rap era started in 2016-2018, I’ve been seeing “rap is going thru it’s glam rock hair metal phase” in online rap discussions for almost ten years lol

    but if it goes from that to nirvana/grunge to whatever you wanna call it’s 2000’s peak, then what does that say for rap. What is the state of rock today outside of the alternative hipster slow guitar type stuff. Like what is the ceiling for Green Day Chemical Romance type s*** and do white boys in nettspend’s age range still even care about that type of music lol
