the way he comes off in his videos is the way i feel about his delivery. he seems so stiff lol. i wish he would loosen up a little. his beats are so fun but it seems like he rarely has fun on them.

On one hand yes but on the other hand there a whole generation of people pushing 30 and above 30 who still would listen to that lane of music lol our generation don’t wann grow up. Same s*** gonna happen to Uzi and Carti where it will look weird but their fanbase will be refusing to grow up with them lol

But you’re right he kinda makes juvenile music for his age lol nigga be talking bout passing notes in class

what do 30 year olds need to listen to

That would look nasty being cartis subordinate like that his style doesn’t even match them

Depends on how they did it

Now the Pierre sound and the WLR f1lthy etc opium sound has separated but I’d argue it is a derivative of Pierre sound

In a perfect world pierre and carti would be running a label together lol

    Insurance/medication infomercials

  • Aug 20, 2022

    Nah.

His own music as an artist are just above average and is mostly carried by some good production/transitions here and there imo.

He’s getting older and the game is already moving from out of his hands, but as a producer he’s stapled for sure.

Southside makes better music as an artist.

what do 30 year olds need to listen to

A lot of artists make good or their best music at 30 but usually are undoubtedly catering to 20 somethings or even teenagers

Jim Jones, Max B, Jpegmafia, Tyler

2 Chainz moving like he was 27 in 2012 when he was 35

I never been 30 and im not saying you should be listening to jazz at 30 lmao but i guess it’s because this current generation music is so skewed towards 17-24 year olds with the presentation and subject matter it’s hard to imagine at 30-40 riding round listening to niggas telling tall tales about jugging and finessing to afford percs and high fashion lol.

But this may be the generation that does that bc if you think about it, black people in their 40’s-50’s in the 70’s and 80’s vs. black people in their 40’s-50’s now, id bet over time mfs started listening to younger music/dressing younger/using certain slang and s*** lol bc of how much the culture has prioritized youth as hip hop grew; not wanting to look out of touch if you were 10 in the 70’s-80’s and 50 now and seen how niggas get clowned when they look old . May just be that continuing

that he's just the producer guy? it's not too hard to imagine. guy really dropped mammoth beats to propel Carti to the top before F1LTHY took over.

those beats from Playboi Carti and Die Lit were the next level at the time they were released. I still revisit those tracks today.

(firmly on the side that Carti had part ways with that sound tho)

I don’t get why being a producer makes being seen as a rapper any different from someone else
Tyler and Cole produce never had this issue

I think it’s kinda cool how they grew in diff directions

I love both artists & think they’re legends in their own right idk if either of them really need to be running a label though imo opium is pretty tacky

finding this out f***ed me up ngl. i knew dipset etc were some of his biggest inspirations but i never questioned why. i thought he was a atl guy who was just paying attention to NY.

there's a case for his sound being NY lol. is drill is the only sound being considered NY right now?

Tyler and Cole have way more mic prescence than pierre

Pierre's tag is too iconic for him to not be known as a producer first

i wonder if the opposite happens too. young rappers catering to a demographic much older than them too. teenagers (at the time) like bishop nehru and joey badass come to mind

They didn’t blow off of producing

They blew as artists with their own identity and soundscape rather than as a producer who we met as someone who needed a rapper
