I mean, in terms of The Weeknd’s looks, you can tell he’s been so wholeheartedly inspired by Prince that they start looking like carbon copies of what Prince would wear during certain eras of his.

The early 1994, pre-Gold Experience era (I mean, though, not really, since there’d been several configurations compiled by the time), comes to mind right after reading your post... lol... except for the label issues, I reckon, and the fact that it’s way less original and not so wondrous obviously.

I don’t see the link between what @Thrice posted and the 1993-95 Gold Experience era?

Prince, and Weeknd for that matter re-invented themselves time and time again?

Those pics are from 1999 (the year, not the album)

Lmao Thrice can see The Weeknd breathing and then post "Prince used to breathe too, is The Weeknd branding himself after Prince?"

I think It IS understandable why people are taking this negatively. Some people see this as OP saying that The Weeknd is not creating his own identity to model himself/ this era around, and is instead looking at what a different artist did and simply copying them.
