25k streaming first week. Without the bundles, this would've looked really ugly. For perspective, this is half the streams of his last 2 albums and less than his debut album, "2 alive"
So what happened?
2093 lost him fair weather fans I guess. Now he’s where he’s supposed to be. 25k is still >35M streams and selling 60k pure is not easy by any metric
Shoulda never linked with Zack Bia and just kept cooking
When Ken's new album does more than double in streaming FW, we will be having some #conversations
What is the point of doing this with every rapper instead of just accepting the standards dropped for what success is
In a time where you only really know an album dropping bc of ig rap blogs and the timeline and everyone listen to their own playlists, 50k should be the new 100k and 100k should be the new 500k lol. 500k is the new million and selling a million first week (which wont happen again btw until like Khaled son or Blue Ivy or North West or a situation like that lmao) should be double platinum lol

Yeah but rappers that sold 500k first week also had songs as big as Tipsy and Espresso on the Hot 100

I dont understand wym could you rephrase brother
His mistake was pretending to be non-white with that fake AAVE, tanning, Lawrence of Arabia fashion, etc.
His target audience likes proudly white rappers like Nettspend and Ian

Different era tbh

he's been in the game for almost half a decade. He should of dropped a mainstream hit song by now
Bruh was gassed crazy on here
It was valid tho! 2021-2022 Yeat was special. His new s*** just doesn't quite hit the same

Ken got comp I’m afraid
People just got tired of him I think.
asked someone about him yesterday and literally got this response
Ken got comp I’m afraid
On the LOWEST of keys, I think he could honestly outsell without bundles/physicals
Yeat's numbers right now are contingent on the shipping of merchandise. This along with no real momentum streaming wise will probably lower his FW even more (mind you that he was projected to sell 90-100K initially). So unless he goes super crazy with the digital deluxes which he has already started, we're looking at a 70K range FW.
No compare this to Ken who has all the momentum in the world amongst his peer streams wise, it really wouldn't surprise me if he did like 80K+. Once again, this is WITHOUT any sort of pure sales shenanigans at play.

It shouldn’t mean much coming from me, since most of the “rage” or “underground” or whatever it’s called music sounds the same to me, but I feel like he just released a bunch of projects, most of them long, all at once, without progressing enough sound wise to stop the over saturation problem
Then again, I could be way off. I know some of his fans complained that his last album before this was too different (I couldn’t tell at all), but that’s what I think happened
I think one thing people always forget to consider is the impact that the perception of one's last project has on the commercial success of their next.
In the case of Yeat, 2093 was a much hyped release after the success of Lyfe/Afterlyfe along with his feature on IDGAF. Because of this, the album did initially well that first week charting #2 on the Billboard 200.
However, we all know that the project was quite divisive amongst his fanbase with some saying that they hadn't really returned to the album all that much. Combine this factor along with no real lead up to this project outside of the usual "cryptic" and "mysterious" teasing, and you are left in this situation where you could potentially lose your shot at your first #1 album as well as having a 50% decrease in streaming first week.
