I just misjudge what he did after a bit because as an innocent man what were his options beside pay the $15m? Honest question was he not able to keep going to court until it got dismissed or mistrial
No because he had to settle to end civil proceedings. He actively fought for the criminal trial to take place first.
Only when that couldn’t happen did he do the only thing possible (end the civil case early via settlement)

you'll hear 2 legal experts explain why the civil trial preceeded the criminal trial, the lady you see talking was an employee who worked at the firm where MJ first accuser got their attorney from during that period, she claims they violated MJ's constitutional rights to have a fair trial
she further states in the same documentary how she remembers that family only looking for money and not justice when they first came to the attorney's office (at 37:42 to 38:26)
