it's only immoral to have children if you're poor

As the West becomes increasingly liberal, the media and government will eventually be pushing society and culture to look down on having children for population control

They will advocate for adoption and push the agenda that having biological children is immoral and selfish when there are orphans, foster, and hopeless and abandoned children with no future

Very doubtful. At most there might be a China style climate where multiple children is considered not good, but can’t see a society ever trying to tell people not to have kids

Oh another one of these threads

I already feel bad enough about tons of s*** I do or don't do well enough, I'm not going to feel guilty for putting time into raising a person who will hopefully surpass me in every way and benefit the human race.

    That’s what you want

What if that isn’t what your kid wants out of life and becomes a serial killer. Who’s fault is that? What if he or she asks you why he or she came into existence?

is this how most people feel about their purpose and responsibility in raising a child? in an effort to benefit the human race?

this is for anyone in the thread btw that's an interesting thought to me.

It would be an unfortunate circumstance, and I would probably blame myself for it because I have a tendency to do so even though it ultimately comes down to personal choice, but there is a relatively low statistical probability of that happening. Not enough to dissuade me from having a child (which has already happened, can't back out now lol).

Noones fault unless their is an abuser in the picture (altho this still likely wouldn’t be someones “fault” in a legal sense).

You could apply this logic to pretty much anything and argue that human existence is immoral lol, dead end imo

I don't think most children were necessarily planned to that degree, but I think a lot of parents find a sense of purpose and dignity in their routine over time as a function of self preservation. We all seek meaning in what we do.

There is incentive to not have children as a lot of policies are in place that make having children really costly. I feel like some powerful rich people are pushing for this policies. You can't have family with 3+ children unless you rich. The middle class will get weeded out like that more and more.

i mean everyone dies in climate collapse so whether we bring more poor kids or more rich kids into the picture is irrelevant

Then anti-natalists have no real arguments besides "nobody asked me for my consent to be born"

I’d personally feel a terrible amount of guilt for creating new life considering the current ecological, societal and political situation. S***s not looking good at all for current and future generations
