class wariojackets are a scam by the fashion industry. you only really need one or two but they are routinely the most fire AND most expensive items on offer from every brand/retailer

That's why OP phrased it as if multiple jackets are "needed" but I can't imagine anyone going through life with only 1 jacket like a cartoon character when there are so many fire jackets out there to add to your rotation

in NYC and I have 11 jackets total
in the winter I'm usually falling back on about 3 of them
1. Lad Musician Asymmetrical Padded Bomber (old faithful 80% of the time)
2. Yves Salomon Classic Fur Lined Parka (just about 10% of the time if it's very cold)
3. Helmut Lang AW99 Astro Moto Parka (another parka, no fur lining throughout the body so it's lighter, also worn only about 10% of the time)
As far as rain goes I just have a good quality, sturdy umbrella and continue to wear my bomber.

OP (my IRL friend) only uses just 1 cold weather jacket for the entire fall/winter
I feel like he needs at least 2 considering the 1 current down jacket is not waterproof because snow/rain play a huge factor

OP doesn't "dress to impress" anymore he goes for more comfortable cozy/lazy fits now and then pairs them with a mainstream hype sneaker
