what are you
about?
i see it all the time on ktt. hyping up artists when no one cares and once the artist enters mainstream they start hating and/or stop caring as much and move onto next new artist to hype up.
it’s not just a ktt thing but I agree. it’s mostly due to projection
folks see themselves in these underdogs and want to root for them. but once that same person is on top of the world, they’re not “relatable” anymore and people don’t feel like they can identify with them as much. so they look for s*** to hate on
Imagine showing this image to someone even 5 years ago. They’d think you were a schizophrenic

Ah you maga clan, thats why you so dismissive. Gotcha
Agreed but there are ways to demonstrate being assertive while also having enough awareness to not be extreme . All that does is add more aggression to both sides. If we lose the ability to reason with certain scenarios then no stable connection to a better outcome can be formed. We end up not even arguing what’s important and just start arguing everything
Tell me the ways to demonstrate being assertive while having enough awareness to not be extreme when it comes to this?
The Civil Rights movement only made progress after cities started burning

I could lap that into at least making a statement even if it was an "extreme" approach. When I say extreme I'm more so discussing mindset more than just an act on its own. Being outraged online that a white girl has conservative family members that she didn't cut off seems hardly like a movement that is progressing toward anything. its insinuating a extreme view that all people with conservative family members should abolish them or not love them . (Even though being a conservative in itself is a spectrum, not all of them are legit mindless racist)

I mean if you claim to be an ally down for the movement

The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict."
This aint really bout sydney but moreso white liberal folks like her that still associate with their conservative family members even tho they claim those attitudes are non-acceptable.
Neutral isnt an option anymore my nigga

so hypothetically if I'm strong in my progressive beliefs and have openly and privately (with family) expressed my thoughts and concerns . Would I still be considered neutral because I didn't cut off certain people cause I don't deem them bad, just misguided?
this is all hypothetical I just need to see what you define as neutral.
It’s funny seeing different perspectives on this but when people talk about “how to be an ally” and all that
It’s s*** like this that reminds niggas that there really aint no such thing as real allyship.
The fight literally starts at home.
You can tell your family the err in their ways, and hope they change. But constantly berating them or cutting them off isn't realistic imo. By being around them and being a good influence you can help that change, even if it doesnt happen.
Some people who grew up with a certain rhetoric are just never going to change. But if the new generation is moving in the right direction thats all that really matters.

F*** are they supposed to do cut them off entirely even though they provided for them and cared for them all their lives lmfao
This type of action isn't even action and if you really thought about it, it's completely counterintuitive to any goal
the demographic euphoria/brockhampton pander to is the most double edged sword ever they will relentlessly build you up and tear you down
that mentally ill teen girl/gay demo is very high risk high reward
And also, if all progressive people are cut out of someones life, their hate is allowed to grow unbounded.
Isolating someone who thinks wrong to a group of only like minded people is much worse than an ally still being around them imo.

If you deem it as "just misguided" to believe in a rhetoric or a thought process that puts marginalized groups of people at risk of their lives and those same groups of people you try to associate with heavy?
I meannnnnnnnn, I'm sure it was white moderates back then that thought their segregationist family members were just misguided as well.
Racism isn't a character flaw or a difference of opinion fam lol

black LGBTQIA+ kids have cut family ties for less
centering comfort over conflict or change is the antithesis of making progress.

I heard this rhetoric before.
Back in the early Trump years when everyone was like "hey, maybe yall shouldn't give neo-nazis and MAGA people all these media platforms" and the excuse as to why they were was "you can't isolate or shun these people we have to get their viewpoints as well to understand them more and maybe engage with them to help change their minds."
Remind me again how well that worked out? How many of those people were able to change their minds?
I'm saying we are in unprecedented times where lines have to be drawn in the sand.
And when one group of people have had the comfort to be able to ride the fence/share spaces with people that let's be real, wouldn't piss on you/your so-called friends if they were on fire...while mad marginalized groups of people cannot say the same
yeah, you're not an ally lol.
Imagine if James Reeb thought like this lol

Okay to start, I was talking about small family groups, not festering alt right spaces. I do think those should be shut down/ have numerous barriers to entry.
And im very lucky to be born into a very progressive family that sponsors refugees, and supported all trans rights/womens rights/blm movements.
I believe in the goodness of people and believe that even deep seeded hatred can be moved in a positive direction.
I also am white, and live in Canada, so my opinions may not mean s*** to where you're coming from.
I have also cut off and went as far as yelling at these people in public places about absolutely horrendous statements theyve made. (friends)
And i feel like my two statements may have not been connected, but i was still talking about the statement of "cutting off family members based on this" because i still believe change can and should start at home.
If you have criticisms based on all this let me know, im open to having a conversation about this and learning from different points of view to better my understanding.

This isn't true, Black LGBTQ kids who aren't privilege usually only cut family if they were thrown out of their houses or if it was a dangerous environment but almost never because of political views unless they have a community of queer friends to fall back on but not everyone does. Cutting family off for not having shared views seems like something only a person of privilege or someone who likes to virtue signal could ever do.
