there's homophobic and transphobic black/brown parents who don't kick their kids out or aren't violent you know. They still love their kids and just tolerate the rest. I'm not saying it's an ideal situation but queer kids don't simply say my family doesn't accept every as[ect about me so let me cut them off entirely. It's not realistic when you're poor. I have trans friends who are constantly being misgendered by their family but haven't cut them off and even still have loving relationships with them.
