don’t wanna overhype it but it’s one of the best shows i’ve ever seen so far

This show is an adaptation of a book which is based on three hundred interviews with players, coaches and staff about the Showtime era. The events and characters in the show may be satirized and exaggerated to an extent but the general points of focus and rifts that are highlighted do have truth to it.

I feel like this point gets left out of the discourse but it actually is based in highly accepted research into this period.

Too bad the actual basketball in the show is so trash lol

Tbf......it was easy for the '79-80 Lakers. You had a full first round bye for 1st seeds back then and the only challenge they really had was Philly

They only lost 2 playoff games against 55+ win teams up until where we are now and the only rough patch they had were the regular season games that they highlighted

The show is good at dramatizing things and of course there was big behind the scenes drama but Westhead slid all year. I wish we got more basketball though but i can kinda see why they decided how they did

But damn this is still a show about a basketball team build the world my nigga

They barely mentioned anything about the nba at least let us know they’re doing good

Makes them lose to random teams on a road trip makes u think they’re a fringe playoff team or something

They’re record and standings could’ve been mentioned throughout the show, that lil mention last episode doesn’t really do anything

Them winning the championship isn’t gonna have much payoff because we haven’t really seen much

Yeah I’m with y’all about not showing a lot of basketball stuff. Specially show Paul and pat coaching and why they deserve to keep coaching. Obviously Paul must of been good enough to be a 55 win team. Instead it just seems Paul and pat don’t really coach and it’s really the players doing everything. But still probably my second favorite show this year so far. I did feel like last episode was every where, and could of stretched it to like 2 really good episodes

Yeah generally a 3 game losing streak not getting no one fired if it's 3 of just 16 losses on the season

S*** HAD ME HOOKED

S*** had me captivated, mouth wide open when he finished the story

Matter fact he went krazy that whole scene with kareem

Felt like this episode had everything I wanted in this show. I really enjoyed this season and looking forward to next season. When pat riley tells magic the count on the vote for rookie of the year. I thought it was gonna be told later in the episode he was making those numbers up and it was actually a lot closer

The only thing I hope the improve on is finding someone else as Dr J lol this actor ain’t cutting it imo
