evan peters smoked this
His portrayal of the character was so f***ing good. That drunk scene will be mentioned for many years to come.

lol there's no way he wasn't actually drunk during that scene, my guy f***ing ATE that scene up

Exactly. This is the first time where he actually showed he can play normal nuanced characters. Wish he got more roles like this instead of the crazy characters.
American Animals is another good one. But sadly he often seems to get some crazy characters, thanks to AHS.
White people something else man lmfao hahahaha what a s***ty f***ing town
HBO got me scared of quiet white towns, these people are nuts.
y’all arguing about whether or not this is better than sharp objects when the night of is superior to both
both are better than this
1: I had thought that too but if you watch it back, when it shows Ryan looking at the texts, you can see it says Erin's name as the contact. So either she texted him from her non-burner phone (records should have showed this). Or John was dumb enough to actually add her burner phone as a contact and call it Erin. Obviously very unlikely - would defeat the purpose of using burners + you would assume her normal number would be labelled under Erin.
2: Ah ok, I had missed the old man hearing a noise explanation. Still though its a little absurd, no matter how bad his memory, that he wouldn't call it in earlier. A commemorative keepsake gun suddenly goes missing and then reappears with the only two bullets gone on the same night as a publicly reported murder in this close-knit town. But then just out of the blue weeks later does suddenly decide to call in about it.
And yeah agreed on your points regarding Dylan and Ryan. The Ryan twist especially felt a little too shoehorned in for the sake of it. Although its necessary in a way to explain why Billy was willing to take the fall.
I was going to say that he'd still have Erin as a contact on his normal phone because they are family but he probably told her not to say anything incriminating regarding their affair on that line...that being said you're right that it would have still shown up on the records I think so they'd have questioned John earlier than they did
Congrats to them. It was a very good show, I enjoyed it.
Needed a scene where Mare has to go tell Kenny how trash his family is.
Then I need a Brawl In Cell Block 99 style season 2 where Kenny goes on a prison rampage to take out John and Billy.
YES YES YES
yeah i tried but too boring for me and they way its setup doesnt make sense for a 2nd season lowkey waste of my time
Felt like im on d**** for feeling this but looks like im not the only one. Lots of people seem to like it tho so thats cool.
finally finished this. knew there was something up with that kid
overall, thought the show was good. worth a watch but wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it. fairly typical detective series with good portrayals of loss, grief, and forgiveness but some uninteresting subplots and probably 1 or 2 episodes too long. whole show felt carried by the cast, as all the main performances were really good and the show would've been completely forgettable with unknown actors
outta the recent hbo detective series mentioned itt I'd rank it True Detective S1, Sharp Objects, The Night Of, and Mare of Easttown
on episode 4 🔥
on episode 4 🔥
man i really thought Dylan was bout to kill the baby
feels like this would have been better as a movie or with 4 episodes instead of 6 because a lot of the supplementary plotlines feel unnecessary. there's usually a mid season lull in shows like this tho so hopefully the last two episodes are fire
I felt like it was a good pace. There have been shows that felt like they drag on but I genuinely feel like they got this down in the miniseries.
