the point is that it's demeaning to Drake & his popularity. He literally outsold 2nd and 3rd combined.

I very much question Ye being 2nd also. Donda had 0 longevity & the only reason it sold so much first week is due to having half the industry on it. a Kanye album with 2 fts isn't doing more than 150k-200k.

just like how a Kendrick album with 5+ big names on it would easily do 400k.

another reason I question Kanye #2 is because I'm fairly sure DAMN has outsold Donda, TLOP, KSG and Ye combined

JIK was 264k lmfao, TLOP was also tidal exclusive, ''big names'' don't really mean s*** either since all the features were hidden, 4.5 days tracking too, he's n2 rn unless travis or lil baby or whoever can prove otherwise

JIK did 264k due to bundles, that album did 150k streaming sales... that's nothing and there's about 10 rappers who do more than that. For comparision that's how many streaming sales Gunna just did with his latest album. Lil Baby's last album did 200k.

TLOP didn't really have longevity & same with JIK/Ye/KSG/Donda. Donda even with all those big names has had awful longevity, it sold less than 13k last week meanwhile Rod Wave's Soulfly (over a year old) sold 13.9k. My Turn by Lil Baby (2 years old) sold 20.5k.

I don't even think Lil Baby is top 3 yet his music is waaaaay more popular than Kanye's, he's not close to 2nd. He's probably not even top 5

TLOP definetly did have longevity but I digress, Donda did not sell a lot in 4.5 days because of “names”, there’s not a single artist bar maybe Travis on Donda that would outsell him first week, and the features weren’t even shown, it sold a lot for a multitude of reasons, mainly great marketing and kanye’s public opinion shifting positively enough for more people to tune in, he’s a more popular artist than he was in 2019, you may disagree but he’s genuinely gained a good portion of fans since then.

Lil Baby is not way more popular, he had a last album that connected better generally, you wouldn’t say he’s way more popular than Adele although it’s already way ahead of her album from November album on the charts

Saying he’s not even top 5 just sounds like hate tbh.

popularity as a person you're right Kanye is #2 maybe even #1 but streams there's no way you can argue he's even top 10

i don't even think Kanye is a top 10 streamed artist over the last 5 years, his music's just a bit dated for the public now. but he'll always have insane hype every drop

nah a lot of these convos were because DAMN sold 603k in 2017, caused a lot of people to think he's gonna outsell CLB because they thought the wait = extra sales. Instead it meant lower sales
