Lol def some overlap for artist like Rihanna who is obviously a God tier artist but never sells much first week. Her new album will def change that though.

who’s doing 150k+ nowadays that isn’t a superstar? i feel the bar you set here is insane. Durk is absolutely a massive star rn, definitely the second biggest rapper in his 20s

    mr get dough

Yeah it did like 89 overall fw

23K first week (mid week release, 1 day of sales)
66K second week (first full week of sales)
89k is the 8 day total

That release was so botched man. The album leaked the weekend before and they dropped on the Thursday cause Carti was droppin the Friday.. it ended up outselling Carti's album overall too.

I can't group Durk with Cole JUST YET.

Durk doesn't headline festivals, sell out arenas, get huge singles or have even broken 200k. I think this label is fine until he gets to that next level in terms of numbers. He is def a superstar as far as street artist go.

    I could be wrong though.

From 2021 - now the only rap albums that did over 150K fw are

    CLB (613K)
Donda (309K, mid week release - 4.5 days of sales)
    Off Season (282K)
Call Me If You Get Lost (169K)
    Drip Season 4Ever (151K)
    Voice of the Heroes (150K)

Also not rap but Summer Walker did 166K last year

I think Cole should be in same bracket as Ye and Drake... Cole's album was significantly shorter, like half, than both their albums. A length difference that large impacts first week for sure
